Felodipine Side Effects

Thought I would do a post on the side effects of felodipine which is a common blood pressure regulating prescription drug. I have personally had better success regulating blood pressure with walking, push ups, weight training, and of course my favorite...............GREEN SMOOTHIE'S USING A VITA MIXER. Smoothies should be built around a foundation of celery, cucumber, baby spinach, carrots, apples, grapes, romaine lettuce, mangoes, banana's etc. The CELERY is a MUST and one should and can drink two or three eight ounce glasses of this mixture daily. It should always be made fresh and should be used within a hour or so at most. It is best NOT to keep it refrigerated overnight etc. Make it, and then drink it.

I recently returned from a working ministry trip in the Emerald Isle (IRELAND). During the last week or ten days there, I came down with a bad cold and flu like symptoms. I am OVER THAT Praise the LORD. What bothered me more was being unable to control my blood pressure while there for approximately five weeks despite walking an hour or more a day on average and doing 1600 push ups during my 5 week stay. I had readings in the 145/95 range and an occasional 160/95. I was even taking in addition to Felodipine an extra Lisinopril in the evening which I never take at home. After two days at home and being back on the CELERY based green smoothies, my blood pressure this afternoon was back down to 125/82. I have to attribute that almost solely to drinking celery smoothies. Before I return to Ireland next year, I have decided to PURCHASE a second Vita Mixer to keep on the west coast of Ireland while I am there. While in the USA, I rarely miss a day of drinking a quart or more of green smoothies made with the Vita Mixer. I am going to rectify that situation on my next trip to Ireland.

  • BENEFITS OF CELERY AND CELERY JUICE:

    http://ahealthykitchen.com/nutrition/health-benefits-of-celery/

    EXCERPTS:

Some of the health benefits of celery juice:
ACIDITY: The important minerals in this magical juice effectively balance the body’s blood pH, neutralizing acidity.
ATHLETES: Celery juice acts as the perfect post-workout tonic as it replaces lost electrolytes and rehydrates the body with its rich minerals.
CANCER: Celery is known to contain at least eight families of anti-cancer compounds. Among them are the acetylenics that have been shown to stop the growth of tumor cells. Phenolic acids which block the action of prostaglandins that encourage the growth of tumor cells. And coumarins which help prevent free radicals from damaging cells.
CHOLESTEROL: This humble pale juice has been shown to effectively and significantly lower total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol.
COLON and STOMACH CANCER: The phytochemical coumarins prevent the formation and development of the colon and stomach cancers.
NATURAL LAXATIVE EFFECT: Helps to relieve constipation. It also helps relax nerves that have been overworked by man-made laxatives.
COOLING: During dry and hot weather, drink a glass of celery juice two or three times a day, between meals. It wonderfully helps to normalize body temperature.
POTASSIUM and SODIUM: Helps to regulate body fluid and stimulate urine production, making it an important help to rid the body of excess fluid.
POLYACETYLENE: An amazing relief for all inflammation like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, asthma and bronchitis.
KIDNEY FUNCTION: Celery promotes healthy and normal kidney function by aiding elimination of toxins from the body. While eliminating toxins, it also prevents formation of kidney stones.
LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE: Drinking celery juice every day for a week significantly helps lower blood pressure. A compound called phtalides help relax the muscle around arteries, dilating the vessels and allowing blood to flow normally. To be effective, drink the juice for one week, stop for three weeks, and start over.
NERVOUS SYSTEM: The organic alkaline minerals in celery juice has a calming effect on the nervous system, making it a wonderful drink for insomniacs.
WEIGHT LOSS: Drink celery juice frequently throughout the day. It helps curb your cravings for sweets and rich food.
URINARY STONES (breaking of): The diuretic effect of celery juice also aids the breaking and elimination of urinary and gall bladder stones.
You can expect many more healing benefits from celery juice as you consume its natural sodium.

In my HUMBLE opinion, you "Just gotta drink celery juice every day". If you only make one purchase this year, buy a VITA MIXER and learn how to use it. It will add years to your life and life to your years.
