Faster Absorption Vitamin C?

The Life Extension folks are now offering a supplement called Fast C with Dihydroquercetin for faster absorption. In two human trials this brand of vitamin C was compared head to head with a leading premium brand of vitamin C and proved it had faster absorption and without greater excretion.

How did they do that?

The Fast C is offered with a proprietary blend of alkalizing minerals which yields an almost acid-neutralized (better than buffered - vitamin C) for sensitive stomachs.

It also contains Piperine (Bioperine) which is a multi-patented, black pepper alkaloid that significantly accelerates vitamin C absorption, shortening the time to peak plasma concentration.

In addition it has (Dihydroquercetin) which is a grape leaf derived flavonoid that donates electrons back to vitamin C molecules that have spent their electrons neutralizing free radicals - regenerating vitamin C to work again.

In just 60 minutes the FAST-C formulation generates significantly higher vitamin C blood increase than the leading absorption enhanced vitamin C product.

A bottle of 120 tablets of FAST-C retails for $26 and member cost is $18 per bottle if you purchase 4 bottles.

Ingredients:

500 mg of vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
79 mg of calcium (calcium carbonate)
8 mg of magnesium (as magnesium hydroxide)
3 mg of Bioperine (black pepper extract)
25 mg of total Dihydroquercetin

To be fair, several natural supplement outlets (Swanson, Puritan Pride, VitaCost) to name a few offer supplements in conjunction with other ingredients or stand alone Bioperine /Piperine,  etc. to enhance supplement absorption. (Formulas will DIFFER).
