If you are trying to lose weight going into the Holiday Season, try having a meal like this at lunch for a while. It is low in calories, has healthy saturated fat in the form of extra virgin olive oil, and you get a good supply of fruits and veggies.
I am talking about a SALAD. This is what mine consisted of:
Cut 1/2 of a crisp apple into small pieces - I used a Crispin apple
Cut up one medium tomato into small chunks
Cut up two stalks of celery in half length wise and then cut into small slices
Cut up 1/2 cucumber length wise twice and then cut those into small chunks
Add a cup full of red seedless grapes
Cut up 4 or 5 sweet peppers (red, yellow, orange into small pieces)
Cut up two fresh hard boiled eggs (Every other day substitute tuna fish or chicken salad, with perhaps some pecans, raisins etc. tossed in).
Fill your bowl or plate 1/2 full with either spring salad mix and/or baby spinach
add the contents from above over the salad.
Then sprinkle a tablespoon or two of extra virgin olive oil over the salad
ADD your favorites salad dressing whether it be Italian, vinaigrette, Cesar etc. and
You will lose weight naturally and if you add in a brisk 1/2 hour walk to the mix, it becomes a habit.
