ED - Do You Have It? Effects Of Heart Bypass Surgery and Other Factors?

I have done several posts in the past on ED as this is a major symptom for many type 2 diabetics. No one likes to talk about it even with their doctor. I thought I would list some factors that play a role in ED for those that suffer from this malady.

  • Age
  • Lack of Exercise
  • Diet
  • Low testosterone
  • Psychological factors (too numerous to delve into)
  • Heart Disease - Partially or fully restricted arteries due to plaque
  • Poor Circulation
  • Neurological damage
  • Diabetes
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Gene pool  - genetic background as it relates to heart disease

Many of the above and perhaps all of them can be factored in together at the same time in any one individual. I am going to post a LINK that I came across with a study of BEFORE AND AFTER heart surgery bypass patients. The article is a little technical, however it can be read and understood. The bottom line is that there was a DISTINCT IMPROVEMENT in ED after heart surgery, once you were past the critical recovery stage. There also seems to be a difference between heart patients who also suffered to varying degrees with type 2 diabetes and those that did not. In any event, IF you have ED or know a friend that does, the information here could be valuable. Remember ED is NOT just about what takes place between the sheets....it is also a warning sign or could be on beginning or advanced stages of heart disease and narrowed arteries. In fact it has been shown men with erectile dysfunction  have 8-times the risk of heart failure over those who don't.

IN FACT, it is an early sign RISK FACTOR in heart disease and IF YOU HAVE IT, it might be time for a nuclear EKG, and perhaps a heart catheterization and other tests. It is NOT just a time to go out and buy Viagara, or Cialis or any of the hundreds of herbal supplements on line to try and resolve it.

I would encourage you to have EKG,s Heart Cath's etc. performed if you in fact do suffer from ED, however BEFORE you go under the knife for heart surgery ALSO CONSIDER the Vitamin C Foundation heart formula which is documented to UNCLOG EXISTING ARTERIES and has a fair amount of documentation, photos testimonials etc. to back it up. SEE MY previous posts concerning the US Patent (1994) issued to two time Nobel Prize winner Dr. Linus Pauling Ph.D for "The Cure Of HEART Disease" and see the Vitamin C foundation for his Vitamin C, L- lysine and L-proline formula.

LIFE EXTENSION MAGAZINE this month has an article on "sexual dysfunction" in both MEN and WOMEN, along with the causes, implications etc. For men they mention three supplements you might be interested in:

  • Pycnogenol - French maritime pine bark extract - see previous posts on this supplement
  • L-arginine aspartate - an amino acid chelate
  • Icariin - a flavonoid compound used in Chinese herbal medicine

For women with sexual dysfuntion (NOT the same as disinterest)  they mention three botanical based compounds proven to help:

  • Cordyceps sinensis extract
  • Lepidium meyenii (maca) extract
  • EstroG-100tm / three extract blend

Remember the body is wonderfully and fearfully made by GOD and what affects one  part of the body normally affects other parts.

Psalm 139:14

King James Version (KJV)
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

I Corinthians 12: 16-26

16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
