Liposomal Vitamin C Now In Capsules

Liposomal Vitamin C is now available in capsules. Dr. Mercola advertises it on his website and it is also available from SWANSON HEALTH PRODUCTS where I purchase many of my supplements from. On the Swanson website, LIPOSOMAL Vitamin C caps are currently listed as ITEM# MRC033 and come in a bottle of 60 capsules of 1000 mg each for $14.97.

Personally I have NOT experienced any digestive discomfort, diarrhea or other symptoms from taking any form of Vitamin C including ascorbic acid. That being said, it doesn't mean that I am getting the best absorption from what I am taking.

What makes LIPOSOMAL VITAMIN C better then? Let's take a look.

First of all what is Liposomal vitamin C?

Liposomes are "tiny vehicles" used for carrying drugs or antioxidants etc. to your body's cells. Liposomes were discovered by Alec Bangham who is a hematologist at Barraham Institute in Cambridge, U.K. They received their name from the tiny bubble that acts like a water balloon and comes from the Greek (LIPO) for fat and (SOMA) for body.  These double layered fatty materials can bypass cell membranes delivering their contents directly to body cells. They are used where a drug or nutritional supplement might cause digestive distress or be poorly absorbed in pill form..

Liposomal vitamin C bypasses the digestive track where most of it would be flushed out and into the urine ending up with little absorption. Most vitamin C capsules and tablets as I understand it are only 15-25% absorbed.

The bottom line is the Liposomal Vitamin C is considerably better absorbed to the place where perhaps 1000 mg of Liposomal vitamin C is the equivalent of 2500 to 3000 of certain other forms of vitamin C.

If you take the example of Swanson's offer of 60 caps of 1000 mg Liposomal vitamin C, it could be that two caps a day might be the equal of 4000 mg or maybe 6000 mg of a drug store brand of 1000 mg ascorbic acid tablets.

IS THIS an exact science? I don't think so, however it is something to consider if you decide to stick with Vitamin C capsules. The absorption is certainly greater than most other types of vitamin C.

If you are doing the vitamin C regimen for heart therapy or to Unclog existing clogged arteries for example as outlined by Dr. Linus Pauling, (EVEN though ascorbic acid vitamin C was commonly used), it might make sense to switch to the Liposomal Vitamin C caps (OR) MAKE YOUR OWN AT HOME ...see my blog post on making your own Liposomal vitamin C.

SHORT REFRESHER on some of the health benefits of Vitamin C:

  • Boost immunity
  • Repair cell damage
  • Younger looking skin
  • Dr. Linus Pauling's "Unified Theory" of heart disease being a vitamin C deficiency
  • Has benefits for: cancer patients, diabetics, stroke, common cold,  and hypertension
Mark 16:17-18 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name . . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

God Bless,

Dan
