Inflammation Ages You Before Your Time

Inflammation plays a role in how fast your body ages and in your susceptibility to disease. Chronic inflammation is linked to dozens of diseases including but not limited to DIABETES, heart disease, stroke and cancer, and osteoarthritis. 

There is a connection between obesity, diabetes and inflammation in that fat cells secrete inflammation boosting proteins called cytokines which over a period of time can interfere with the bodies regulation of insulin leading to diabetes.

What can we do to counter inflammation?

A diet HIGH in trans fatty acids, too many carbohydrates and sugar create inflammatory chemicals in the body. A diet rich in a variety of fresh vegetables, whole grains, fiber, lean meats and Omega 3 fatty acids tend to diminish inflammation/

Some studies indicate we have a "Cytokine Switch" called HMGB1 which allows scientists for the first time to think about ways to quell chronic inflammation and help promote successful aging by controlling HMGB1 levels in your body.

Studies show that two substances:


  • Mung bean seed coat
  • EGCC from green tea


effective in preventing death from acute inflammation by counteracting HMGB1 and showing promise in other inflammatory diseases.

A diet rich in Omega 3's including oily fish, walnuts, flax seed oil and ground flax seed, sea veggies. You need a balance between Omega 3's and Omega 6 fatty acids. MOST of us get too many Omega 6's from fast food, and snack foods.

Green smoothies in your Ninja or Vita Mixer etc. can also help. Eating steamed veggies such as broccoli, kale, etc. along with making celery, apple, red grape with cucumbers etc. into a green drink including all the fiber help alkalize your body's PH and can curb inflammation too.

Drinking a quality green tea mix every day also helps. Get off the highly processed, sugar and salt laden empty calorie foods and try to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables every day. Your body will thank you for it and you will have more energy.

TRY having the juice of of one lemon in warm water first thing in the morning BEFORE you eat breakfast for regularity.
