Insulin and Liver Cancer Risk For Diabetics

I am thankful to the Lord above that I am NOT on insulin, whether by the pen for injections or a insulin pump or any other device. I full well realize there are a lot of people on insulin and because of the high blood sugar readings, perhaps you do not have a choice. I understand that, and I also realize that all prescription drugs or medications have side effects. Most of us as we get older are walking a tightrope so to speak in that every day is a balancing act between effects of disease (such as Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, unbalanced HDL/LDL ratios and a host of others) and weighing the side effects of prescription drugs.

I also realize that Type 2 Diabetes carries with it an increased risk of other problems including various cancers. That being said, if you are on insulin because you are dangerously overweight, and do not exercise and continue to eat all the wrong foods assuming that the insulin pump will just adjust for your lifestyle, you might want to take a second look at your situation. Your doctor could help you enroll in a suitable exercise program along with dietary changes including  drastically  cutting back on refined carbs and empty calorie foods and eliminating sugar from your diet. One that comes to mind is the Medi-Fast program with centers around the country.

I am going to post a link to an email I received on the increased risk of Liver Cancer for those who are on insulin. I suggest you work with your doctor or clinic to find out what you can do to see if you can wean yourself off insulin. It will NOT be easy and likely will NOT be a fast track, however it has been done before. In the interim you might want to read a book entitled, "Death to Diabetes" by DeWayne McCulley. I have a review of his book elsewhere in my blog. Go to the listing of all my blog posts and look for the review. DeWayne is an EX-diabetic engineer who survived a near-death experience with a blood glucose level of 1337, more than 1000 points above normal. Despie two blood clots, pneumonia, high cholesterol, and four insulin shots a day, he was able to methodically wean himself off the insulin, coumadin and other drugs. His average blood glucose level is now around 95 and his A1C is below 5%. In the process his lost 50 pounds and reversed his diabetes. IT CAN BE DONE. It is not easy and takes a lot of determination and close interaction with your doctor or clinic along with blood lipid profiles, EKG.s and close monitoring of your daily blood glucose levels.

Psalm 103:3 ESV

Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,

1 Peter 2:24 ESV

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

EXCERPT:

Insulin May Cause Death for Type 2 Diabetics

All drugs carry the risk of side effects, which is a well-known fact of health and wellness.
This is what drives many to reject the message when their doctors try to push pharmaceuticals as a method to manage chronic diseases instead of natural alternatives.
New research shows exactly how scary this can be, though. It revealed how insulin, which is supposed to help type 2 diabetes, can actually has the opposite effect and cause deadly side effects.
Researchers in Shanghai recently discovered that a startling new reason to demand natural ways to cure type 2 diabetes (and not just “manage it” with medications) is critical.
The researchers looked at health markers for over 8,500 patients who had type 2 diabetes. About 1/3 of the patients were using insulin therapy to manage their disease and the other 2/3 were not.
What they found was nothing short of alarming: Even though all the patients carried the same general risk of cancer (about 75 in 10,000), the insulin therapy group had a much higher risk of developing liver cancer specifically.
And by much higher we mean 186% higher than the non-insulin group. When looking at mortality risk, i.e. how likely patients are to die prematurely, insulin users were at almost 90% higher total mortality risk. Dying of cancer, specifically, was also worse for the insulin group, who showed an increased tendency of 116%.
Whether you use insulin to manage your type 2 diabetes or not, it is clear that to mitigate many of these preventable hazards the only permanent solution is to completely reverse the disease.
