I have been doing some research on detoxification and the importance of the first thing you eat or drink in the morning. For a long time I used to drink a full 8 oz glass of cold water first thing in the morning. Same say that is a shock to your system. I NOW DRINK a warm glass of water, with the juice of a fresh 1/2 or whole lemon squeezed into it. It makes you feel better almost from the first day you do it. It quickly can become a habit if you stick to it.
I know folks including some good friends that you cannot carry on a conversation with until they have had their first cup of coffee. A few friends have a hot cup of coffee within arms reach all of their waking hours. I have posted the known health benefits of coffee on this blog and it is apparently NOT the culprit it was once thought to be. In short, I am NOT proposing that anyone give up their coffee and I sometimes have 2 cups a day.
I am NOT asking anyone to give up their cup of coffee in the morning or do away with it entirely. I am asking you to consider drinking 4 to 8 ounces of warm water with the juice of a fresh lemon in it BEFORE breakfast, and BEFORE your one or many cups of coffee (OR TEA).
