Alkalizing Juice

1 head of celery
A large cuke
Quarter of a lemon
2 handfuls of kale
Green apple is optional for sweetness
Makes about 16 ounces
The kale adds a good serving of calcium, the celery is full of natural electrolytes, the cucumber has a cleansing effect on the body and believe it or not the lemon is alkalizing. We have written elsewhere about the alkaline effect of lemons, even though they are acid to start with.

Smoothie Energy

I prefer smoothies, because they are quicker and easier to make. Less labor intensive than juicing.

The basic recipe is a couple of pieces of fruit and some greens. In this video she uses celery and oranges. I like to make mine with all vegetables. Carrot and beet provide the sweetness. I find that I always need to add water to make it work. A good high power blender is needed. the cheapo brands may not work that well. On the other side of that coin, the $500 Vita Mix is probably overkill, at least on the wallet.

(MY INPUT) Once you own a Vita Mixer you will never look back. Instead of juicing as above, add water and use the ingredients whole and blend them into a green smoothie in a Vita Mixer. Add an orange and or a banana to the mix.
