Ways to Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally

If you are Type 2 Diabetic, chances are you also have high blood pressure readings. High Glucose levels  with high insulin levels usually accompany high BP readings.

1 out of 3 adults have high blood pressure
40% of those are not receiving treatment
30% have no symptoms and are unaware they have it

Here are some valuable tips:

  • Lose weight if you are over weight
  • Exercise more - 30 mins at least 5 days a week / Brisk Walking is one of the BEST
  • Quit smoking
  • Reduce your caffeine intake
  • Reduce your sodium intake to less than 2300 mg per day (ONE teaspoon of table salt contains 2300 mg by itself.)
  • CUT way back on canned and pre-packaged goods - they are full of sodium
  • Eat Raw, unprocessed nuts like walnuts, almonds, cashews etc. / AVOID salted or flavored nuts
  • AVOID wheat and grains, pasta, potatoes, bread, all processed pre-packaged cereals
  • Avoid the crunchie/munchie isle of the grocery stores - too much sodium and additives etc.
  • Increase magnesium rich foods such as Avocados, almonds, green leafy vegetables, peas, and beans
  • Increase potassium by eating bananas and increase your fibre at the same time
  • Consume smoothies made from beets, beet greens, celery (including stalk and leaves)
  • Consume pomegranate juice (easy on this one because of the sugar content)
  • Try Hibiscus tea
  • ADD a tablespoon of ground flax seed and chia seed mix to your morning oatmeal with blueberries, seedless grapes and stevia in the raw
  • Drink more pure cold water, avoid carbonated diet or regular Coke and Pepsi like the plague
  • BUY an easy to use and accurate do it yourself wrist type BP cuff and take your BP morning, noon and night and keep records for yourself as you change your diet and exercise habits

TRY green smoothies made with a Ninja machine or a VitaMixer (EXPERIMENT)

I LIKE:

Celery, beet, apple, seedless grape smoothies

Frozen blueberries. whole raw almonds, ice cubes, 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, 1 medium cored apple, dash of fresh lime juice, enough cold water to mix properly

The possibilities are endless!

God Bless,

Dan

High Blood Pressure Cause and Effect Information

Been reading a lot about Type 2 Diabetes and high Blood Pressure.

Hope you find this interesting as I did:

Study done in 1998 (Journal of Diabetes) shows a link between a high sugar, high grain diet combined with inadequate exercise leads to diabetes and high blood pressure. In fact 2/3 of insulin resistant folks also have high blood pressure.

In my humble opinion simply adding one or two or MORE high blood pressure prescription drugs without changing your exercise and dietary regimen is NOT the answer. Remember all drugs come with side effects and many of the BP drugs list 2 or 3 pages of them. I know that not everyone is subject to multiple side effects, however I have ran into a lot of people that struggle with from one to perhaps 5 or 6 side effects and simply accept it as normal. When you multiply that by the synergism of 2 or perhaps 3 BP drugs, you have a problem.

My reading indicates that INSULIN stores magnesium and if insulin receptors are blunted, our cells grow resistant to insulin.
Stored magnesium in your cells relaxes muscles and if magnesium levels are LOW, constriction of blood vessels occurs which results in high blood pressure and sodium retention.
If insulin receptors are blunted as mentioned above, your lose the ability to store insulin and magnesium passes out of your body through the process of urination.

Looks like sort of a vicious cycle doesn't it?

Since there is a direct link between insulin resistance and high blood pressure, here are some tips to improve the situation:

  • Get OFF the grains, and all the munchie/crunchie empty nutrition, empty calorie foods and products containing wheat and bread, even whole grain bread, donuts, muffins, cakes, pies, etc.
  • Get off the processed convenience foods including 99% of breakfast cereals
  • Cut way back on sugar in all its many forms
  • Drastically reduce carbohydrate levels
  • Start walking every day until you work up to 1.5 miles per day at a brisk pace
  • DO some stretching exercises and some weight resistance training and CORE strengthening exercises every day or every other day
  • Drink more pure water
  • Invest in a Ninja smoothies maker or a VitaMixer and start drinking celery, apple, red beet and beet greens smoothies. Throw in some seedless grapes and perhaps some natural yogurt for flavor.
Drugs are not the answer and not a permanent solution if you really want to get well.

God Bless,

Dan

Natural Approach To High Blood Pressure !

If you read my blog, I do not have to tell you I will take the natural approach to lowering high blood pressure (OR) any other physical ailment every time over prescription drugs. WHY? Primarily because I am personally highly susceptible to any and all side effects (WHICH I consider a blessing from the Lord).

Secondly because every single one of us is susceptible to side effects and some of them get worse the longer we are on a particular drug (OR) the combined synergism between several prescription drugs. I know people on so many different drugs that in essence they end up chasing their side effects around and around the room so to speak. In other words your doctor or doctor's (plural) end up unwittingly prescribing drugs to counter act the side effects of drugs you are already on. It can become a vicious cycle and it often does.

Admittedly one does not want to walk around for any extended period of time with high blood pressure as that is also detrimental to your health and longevity. Everyone cannot afford to be taking 15 or 20 individual natural supplements either.

WHAT TO DO? - Here is a supplement I came across while researching blood pressure remedies and it looks to have some merit. The price is reasonable for a 30 day supply especially if you order multiple bottles at once. I would guess that if you ordered 3 or 4 months worth of this formula and tried it, that would be a long enough trial period to determine effectiveness.

NO - I am not currently on this supplement, however I am taking a hard look at it. One also has to take into consideration how much they are paying in Co-pays for being on one or two or perhaps more BP medicines with all their side effects.

The FIRST line of defense would be to change your diet. By that I essentially mean to start switching your diet over to a plant based vegan approach. In addition to that start drinking more WATER and give up the carbonated diet or sugar laden colas etc.

Add 150 mins of aerobic type exercise weekly (five days at 30 mins of brisk walking every day).
LOOK UP the list of side effects of any and all drugs your on, especially blood pressure drugs since that is the theme of this post. Be honest with yourself and see if any of those side effects ring a bell to you.

Tell your doctor, you would like to try a 90 day experiment and wean yourself off the medications and take 3 caps of this supplement per day for 90 days and keep close track of your blood pressure during that time. CHECK WITH HIM OR HER FIRST so they are aware of what you are doing and trying to accomplish. I have two doctor's both of which are willing and supportive on this type of change. Most doctors want you to get well and are not simply an extension of the pharmaceutical industries sales force.

In any event, enough drama................HERE is a link to the supplement I am talking about. IF you try this please drop me back a note or a comment on your results. Remember I am NOT playing doctor here which is why I STRESS making your personal doctor part of your goal to improve blood pressure. I also do NOT receive any remuneration from the sale of this product.

Blood Pressure Lowering Tips

As a follow up to my last post, here are some other practical ideas you can employ to lower blood pressure as opposed to just take prescription drugs:

  • CUT WAY back on white and wheat breads, whole grains, pasta, most breakfast cereals, cornstarch and MOST snack foods which are high in sodium and empty calories. I am talking about the whole crunchy /munchies isle of your local super market.
  • TAKE A couple of tablespoons of organic, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil each day
  • TAKE Green TEA extract or drink a quality green tea
  • DRINK FRESH celery juice every day - make your own
  • LIMIT caffeine
  • LIMIT alcohol
  • DON'T SMOKE
  • EXERCISE 30-40 mins at least 5X weekly - brisk walking is terrific
  • REDUCE SODIUM  from foods. Make the snack food isle of your local store a forbidden zone
  • EAT more fish
  • TAKE calcium, magnesium, vitamin D3, CoQ10, omega 3's and vitamin C
  • EAT more nuts, pecans, walnuts, pistachios
  • TAKE pine bark extract, and pomegranate caps, and Aceytl-L-Carnitine
  • EAT more fresh vegetables and fruit every day / steam some broccoli and kale
  • DRINK more water
  • RELAX on purpose for 1/2 hour every day
This requires more effort than just popping another prescription drug, however in the long run it will pay BIG dividends.

God Bless,

Dan

NATURAL Cures For High Blood Pressure

You NEED to watch this video from Barton Publishing Co. Do you want to suffer the side effects of BP drugs and simply mask or suppress the symptoms or do you want to CURE your high blood pressure.

You NEED to take a look at this short educational video and get the facts and make up your own mind. They offer a High Blood pressure Solution Kit with totally natural remedies including 37 recipes to lower BP.

I do NOT have any affiliation with this offer and I do NOT make any profit or am I compensated financially in any way.

I do know first hand about the side effects of pharmaceutical drugs to lower blood pressure, and I think this is a good alternative to look into.

On this BLOG I have a previous post entitled, "Banana's Get A Bad Rap". This report would agree with this premise.

Dan

Tired of 10-15 min videos that want to sell you something? SO AM I, and YET, I think you need to watch this one and if you have HIGH BP, you need this information.

HIGH Blood Pressure....Do You Have It?

If you have high blood pressure, you may not even know it as the symptoms are few and you could be in danger and not know it.

What is HIGH Blood Pressure?

It is a measurement of both Systolic (TOP number) pressure which is the pressure when your heart beats and pumps blood, and Diastolic or the (Bottom number) which measures pressure between beats.

120/80 is normally the widely accepted goal. There is some evidence that having both the top and bottom numbers lower than that is a better goal.

Here are some foods you can eat (OR drink if you have a Vita Mixer or other appropriate type blender on steroids to liquefy fruit and veggies into a green smoothie)

  • Celery
  • Kayle
  • Spinach
  • Carrots
  • Tomatoes
  • Apples
  • Mangoes
  • Apricots
  • Bananas
  • Papayas
  • Grapes
  • Oranges
  • Grapefruit (WATCH reactions with this one with current medications?)
  • Peaches
  • Strawberries

EAT THESE as opposed to liquefying:

  • Soy beans
  • Broccoli
  • Melons
  • Peas
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Tomatoes
Many of these foods contain calcium, potassium and magnesium

What if you DON'T GET YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE DOWN TO ACCEPTABLE LIMITS?

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE CONTRIBUTES TO OR IS A PRIMARY CAUSE OF HEART DISEASE, STROKE, CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE, KIDNEY DISEASE AND BLINDNESS.

Nobody wants any of those ailments.

I highly recommend buying a Vita Mixer or similar machine and start to learn how to make green smoothies. As an example, your can cut into 1 or 2 inch lengths (3) stalks of celery including the leaves. Rinse in a colander and then put them into the Vita Mixer pitcher. Add to that 1 medium carrot, 1 medium crisp apple, a handful of red grapes, a handful of kale or baby spinach and a sprig of parsley. Fill the pitcher with ice cold water about 2/3 full, place the rubberized seal top on the picture and blend till liquefied. You can add stevia to taste, or sprinkle in a tablespoon of "All Day Energy Greens" or Barley Grass powder etc. for an extra boost.

DRINK (2) 8 ounce glasses of this a day with one in the morning and one in the evening and it will do wonders for your body's PH and your blood pressure readings. You should also purchase a wrist blood pressure cuff from your local pharmacy (usually under $50.00) and get in the habit ot taking your blood pressure two or more times a day until you have it under good control

NOW, start walking 30-45 mins a day perhaps 5 or 6X weekly and cut back on the salt especially in the form of potato chips, french fries, and other fast food.

You are on your way to a healthier lifestyle.

Dan

Ps 103:1-5

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
