It is an attempt to get everybody they can on some sort of statin drug regimen as if it were some sort of panacea of prevention of future events. Let's face it, the pharmaceutical companies in conjunction with many doctors would like to see everyone in America on statin drugs from school age children to the elderly.
DON'T BE FOOLED! This is nothing but a rewording and promotion of the cholesterol causes heart disease myth. See my previous posts on "Unified theory of heart disease" as outline by Dr. Linus Pauling and Dr. Matthias Rate and others (vs.) the "Lipid Theory" as promoted by Big Pharma and the medical community at large. If you go to my post labels section of the blog and look up anything dealing with vitamin C, lysince, Proline, CoQ10, vitamin E and Linus Pauling or heart disease you will find ample evidence that the cholesterol theory has BIG holes in it. You will also learn that the PROFIT MOTIVE of Big Pharma is shocking.

Dear Reader,
If you're wondering what's behind the new statin guidelines, you're not the only one.
Doctors, reporters, health officials, and regular Joes...no one seems to know why they decided to remove the target cholesterol numbers.
Or do we?
------------------------------
Confusion in control
------------------------------
If you've turned on the TV or radio in the last week, I'm sure you've been bombarded by news of the radical new statin guidelines, courtesy of the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.
The new guidelines remove the numerical targets for lowering cholesterol. So your doctor isn't supposed to tell you anymore that you need to get your cholesterol below 200 or 180 or 150...or however low it was supposed to be before this U-turn.
Some people are saying the new rec is confusing.
But that's only because they've been brainwashed to think cholesterol matters.
No...the only number that matters here is the bottom line.
So as an early Christmas present to their Big Pharma cronies, the AHA and ACC rebranded statins.
They're burying the old idea of the cholesterol-lowering drug.
Instead, we'll see statins repositioned and promoted as a simple heart health drug being pushed to even bigger masses than before.
Do you have high blood pressure? Type 2 diabetes? A family history of heart problems? Are you 45 or older? Do you have any ONE of those problems?
Well then, you better take a heart drug!
And all the while, the mainstream will be parroting its old mantra in a loud chorus... "The benefits outweigh the risks!"
You know, risks like these...
* high blood sugar and type 2 diabetes
* muscle pain and damage
* kidney and liver damage
* memory loss
* age-related macular degeneration
* cataracts
Don't be fooled for a second. They haven't removed a target at all. They've just painted it on your back.
