Since I am retired and take several natural supplement formulas, I find myself becoming more cost conscious. As an example, I take a product called BestProstate which includes a 6 month supply for $89.95. My last PSA test results were 0.40 with normal range being 1.0 to 4.0 so anything under (4.0) is good and under 1.0 is very good. For a man my age which is 67, I am very happy with the results and have been on this formula for a long time now. I will NOT switch off this product and consider it worth every penny.
I am NOT unhappy with CholesLo and the jury is still out on staying on this product or perhaps trying something NEW at a lower cost. One product I am looking at is from Best Herbals and is called Cholest 9. I can get a (4) month supply of this product with the current coupon code for $66,62 including shipping. The key ingredients are similar in that red yeast rice, policosanal, garlic, and others are present. It contains hawthorn berries, chromium nicotinate glycininate chelate, oat bran and green tea leaf 8:1 extract which the CholesLo does not. It is missing the Milk Thistle extract, however I take that separately anyway. Buying 4 months at a time, annual cost works out to $199.86 and better offers are available. I am currently out of Choleslo and MIGHT give this product a try. Cost is becoming more important as time goes by, so I am LOOKING around at this point. My last 3 month lipid profile found my triglycerides up a little. Admittedly it was right after the Holidays which might account for it. I normally have my lipid profile done 2X a year minimum and IF I switch to this herbal formula, I would know the results in a few months. IF it does not give the desired results, it is easy to switch back to CholesLo or do more research.
I do my best to avoid prescription drugs whenever possible and personally feel that although the drug industry serves a valuable purpose, the medical community at large over prescribes drugs. I personally prefer wherever and whenever possible to try the natural approach FIRST. History has taught me that I am personally susceptible to drug side effects, so I am always searching for the latest natural approach to a health issue FIRST.
The best deal I can find on Choleslo from HFL Solutions is (5) bottles for $159.77 including shipping. Each bottle includes 80 caps and recommended dose is 4 per day with weekends off. That works out to $31.95 per bottle (one month supply if taking weekends off). Here are the ingredients PER CAPSULE. Annual cost works out to around the $400-430 mark on average.
Happy New year,
Dan
