Vitamin D and Cancer

Did you know that the UNITED STATES PREVENTIVE SERVICES TASK FORCE evaluated 137 published studies about vitamin D and concluded that low dose vitamin D supplementation of 400 IU/day has NO benefit in preventing fractures or cancer.

The task force reviewed the published data and came to the conclusion that women should not take low doses of vitamin D to prevent fracture or for any other benefit. On the surface it sounds like one is wasting his or her money on vitamin D supplement.

Sometimes what seems obvious is hidden in the shadows so to speak. The task force listed above is correct .............AS FAR AS IT GOES. By that I mean they are right in that LOW DOSE 400 IU of vitamin D isn't going to have any measurable effect on peoples lives, especially on preventing cancer in women.

On the other hand when you bump that supplementation up to 4500 IU of vitamin D daily, it has been shown to reduce the incidence of cancer by 51%.

The same task force accurately stated that 1000 mg a day of a calcium supplement  PLUS 400 IU of vitamin D does NOT prevent bone fractures.

Again IF you change the parameters and include supplementation of vitamin K and magnesium along with the maintenance of a youthful hormone balance and resistance exercises to that calcium, vitamin D program the outcome changes dramatically.

For more detailed information, look up Life Extension's Magazine's article in the May 2013 issue entitled "As We See It".

I believe our bodies are more than the sum of its parts. You must take a comprehensive BALANCED APPROACH TO NUTRITION, and exercise.

If you google websites from Dr. Mercola as an example on vitamin D3 you will find a wealth of information and documentation indicating you are probably NOT getting enough Vitamin D3 or Magnesium, Vitamin K etc. and you are NOT exercising enough.

BELOW are two examples of Dr. Mercola's advice on cancer prevention and vitamin D3
