As a follow up to my last post on Prostate Cancer and PSA readings etc. here is some additional information and recommended natural supplements and foods. If you are man age 40 and over, you need to do a little homework on your own on PSA levels. It is probably the leading cause of cancer in older men, and you should spend a little time researching this to likely save yourself a lot of misery down the road.
In a follow up article from the Life Extension Magazine folks, it is important to remember that prostate cancer is NOT an isolated disease. This is apparently a common mistake made by both doctors and patients thinking that prostate cancer occurs in isolation from other pathological events occurring as a person ages. This is NOT the case per lots of supportive information in the article.
You can order supplements and a subscription to the Life Extension magazine at:
Life Extension, POB 407198, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33340-7198

Here is a partial list of helpful foods and supplements to lower one's PSA levels:
They offer a single formula that contains 4 nutrients that help lower PSA and slow any cancer progression. The formula contains four proven powerful combatants against prostate cancer:
Pomegranate
Green Tea
Turmeric
Broccoli
The formula is called POMI-T and at the time of this post, is $33.33 per bottle of 60 vegetarian capsules (30 day supply) or $25 per bottle if ordering four at a time.
OTHER supplements available from a wide variety of outlets including but not limited to Puritan pride, Swanson Vitamins, Vita-Cost and others:
Omega 3's found in fish oil:
AVOID high amounts of Omega 6 fats in your diet (Omega 6 fats are found in avocados, almonds, macadamia nuts, peanuts, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pecans, pistachios, avocado oil, almond oil. peanut oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, canola oil, macadamia nut oil, grapeseed oil, corn oil, peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter ( I am glad I read this as I eat a LOT of nuts listed above). Moderation as in most things in life is the KEY. We NEED omega 6 fats to live, but too much of a good things is NOT GOOD.

I am getting ready to go in for some routine lab work in the next couple of weeks including a PSA test.
By the way my most recent A1C reading of a week ago was 6.5. I want to get it down to 6 or under if I can. I exercise a lot, try to avoid the empty calorie, sugar laden carbs and try not to eat after dinner at night.
I am not trying to play doctor here by any means and have no degrees after my name and no financial interest or remuneration from anyone buying any of the listed supplements from Life Extension or anyone else.
I am just a guy with type 2 diabetes trying to stay as healthy as I can and i enjoy researching health related information and passing it along to readers of my blog.
God Bless

John 10:10
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
